The difference is the foundation
CogLake vs.
Claude Team / Enterprise
Use Claude without making Claude your entire AI strategy. CogLake keeps company knowledge, model choice and governed agent work in a provider-independent stack.
- German company
- EU server locations
- Auditable AI actions
Why choose CogLake
Three differences that matter at work.
Claude when it fits. Other models when they fit better.
Claude’s business plans center on Anthropic models. CogLake lets you combine model providers and economical open-weight models, with BYOK and local inference, while keeping the same company context.
Own the knowledge foundation, not just a project.
Claude offers connected search and projects. CogLake adds an independently bookable Knowledgebase with source sync, a company and personal wiki, and MCP access for other AI applications.
Choose where your application runs.
Anthropic documents US data storage; selected Enterprise plans can configure where model requests are processed. CogLake offers EU application hosting and on-premises operation, with access to different model providers.
Side by side
What your company actually gets.
One criterion per row. First the knowledge foundation, then AI capabilities and control.

European hosting. Control over your AI data.
CogLake offers EU application hosting and on-premises operation without requiring Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. For models provided by CogLake, CogLake manages the provider connections. Processing location and No-Retention terms depend on the model offering and provider agreement. With BYOK, the customer organization connects its own provider account; locally hosted models can run on its own infrastructure.

Results and methodologyThe important distinction
Your knowledge should outlast your model choice.
A connector brings information into Claude. CogLake makes knowledge a product of its own: synchronized, editable, permission-aware and reusable through MCP. The AI Workspace then connects that foundation to models, skills and agents under shared policies.
- Connect knowledgeSources + integrated wiki
- Apply your rulesPermissions + action policies
- Put AI to workChat + agents + automations
Governance beyond a role dropdown.
Source permissions are checked before retrieval. Central model, MCP, tool and skill policies also apply to agents. Allow/deny rules and approvals govern actions; audit logs make decisions and execution traceable. These are practical building blocks for GDPR and EU AI Act compliance work.
Our conclusion
Choose CogLake for company AI beyond one provider.
When your priority is a maintained knowledge foundation, EU application hosting, on-premises flexibility and centrally governed work across model providers, CogLake is the more flexible choice. Use the model that fits the task without rebuilding your company context around it.
The trade-off
Claude Team is a focused subscription for teams committed to Anthropic, with included usage and coding tools. CogLake also includes usage: €9 per user per month with AI Workspace. Its value is the reusable knowledge foundation and freedom to change models, not a promise of unlimited usage.
